It always amazes me that in some countries they have two or three feet of snow and we see pictures of them on the news and they just seem to be taking it all in their stride and getting on with sorting it out. However in this country, when we have about three inches of snow, the whole country flies into a great panic. We simply can not cope. People become stranded in their own homes and have to
have food parcels sent to them. Traffic grinds to a halt. No one can get anywhere. The roads are completely blocked off or there are queues of traffic going back miles. Where are the gritters ? why can't we cope ?

I can't understand it either. I mean it snows most years, so its not exactly a 'freak of nature' when it does come down. I think part of the problem on the roads is that people just drive normally and then lose control. I see it in the rain and the fog too. Drivers just don't take precautions.
