Gale force winds batter Scotland

I think that generally we think of Scotland as getting loads of bad weather whatever the time of year. I am not surprised then to hear that they are getting lots of gale force winds in Scotland. although I have to say that it is certainly picking up in the wind department here in the Midlands too. The noise is just dreadful ad there are things flying all over the palce. (the bin men have been today and so lots of papers etc that they have left behind are having a great time blowing in the wind - and getting stuck in trees).
I am just thankful that so far we have not got any snow. I like to see it but not go out in it.
